In this two-hour webinar, we will address the ways in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) influences the way community residents (general, senior adults, young, urban, rural, economically disadvantaged, racial/ethnic minorities, etc.) gather health/medical information, trust health information, and use health information in decision-making. This will be a panel of those who are expert in AI development and usage, and community members who are consumers of that information. Areas of potential research on AI and its impact on community health will be examined. This session is intended to be one in a series of quarterly webinars designed to be responsive to stated community needs.
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Define key concepts of AI (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing) and their relevance to community health, individual health, and public health
- Identify at least two ways that AI might improve health outcomes in vulnerable populations
- Describe ethical, cultural, social, and trust factors of AI in community and public health; discuss at least one possible research question about the role of AI in community/public health.
