Daphne Byrd is the CEO & Executive Director of the Southeastern Primary Care Consortium,Inc.,AtlantaAreaHealthEducationCenter(SPCCAtlantaAHEC). Sheholds a Master of Science in Education from the University of Georgia and has over 35 years of experience in healthcare administration, policy development, workforce development, community organization, and community health education and promotion. Ms. Byrd actively contributes to the education of health professionals, health professions students, academic faculty, and community residents. Ms. Byrd holds an appointment as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine at Morehouse SchoolofMedicine. SheisamemberofMorehouseSchoolofMedicine’sPrevention Research Center’s Community Coalition Board. As a contributing partner, her organization provides mental health first aid training to communities; health careers awareness and exploration programs for high school students; community-based training opportunities for health professional students; and continuing education opportunities for health professionals and their team. Ms. Byrd is a Certified Community Health Worker, as she received her training through the Emory Archway Program. She is also a Certified Mental Health First Aider. Ms. Byrd is also a board member of MedCura Health Care, Inc., a federally qualified health center (FQHC). She also represents the community as a member of the South DeKalb YMCA’s Advisory Board and Wade Walker YMCA Board of Directors. Ms. Byrd has also served as a board member of the National AHEC Organization (NAO). She is a member of the South DeKalb Rotary Club, located in Lithonia, Georgia.
