Advances in biomarkers and disease-modifying therapies are giving clinicians better tools to understand the biology underlying cognitive decline—and making the question of when an etiologic diagnosis matters more important than ever. This webinar will explore when identifying a specific cause of dementia can meaningfully change treatment, prognosis, counseling, or eligibility for disease-specific therapies, and when a syndrome-based approach focused on the patient's symptoms, function, and quality of life may be more clinically useful.

We will also examine the striking frequency of mixed brain pathologies, what autopsy studies can teach us about diagnosing dementia during life, and the emergence of newer neuropathologic entities such as LATE and PART.
