Dr. Seale is Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health (Medical College of Georgia), as well as the School of Public Health at Augusta University. He is a clinician researcher board-certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He is nationally recognized for his work on translating research to practice through promoting the adoption and implementation of alcohol and drug Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) and Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) for alcohol and opioid use disorders in primary care settings. He has more than 17 years of experience as a buprenorphine provider and has served as a buprenorphine waiver trainer for both the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Providers’ Clinical Support System.
