In December 2025, the FDA-cleared pTau217/Aβ42 plasma ratio test for Alzheimer's disease was recalled, just six months after receiving clearance. Providers using the test were informed that some patient results were not valid. This GMNsights session will review the likely reason as to what happened. We will also review the use of ptau217 in the clinical workflow as a biomarker for mild symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease.
