Dr. Renata Shih, MD, is a physician from São Paulo, Brazil, with specialized training in pediatric heart failure and heart transplantation at the University of Florida. Her journey in gene therapy clinical research began at the University of Florida, where she worked in a multidisciplinary neuromuscular clinic and contributed to gene therapy clinical trials for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

In 2025, Dr. Shih moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and joined Rare Disease Research LLC. She currently serves as a Principal Investigator for gene therapy clinical trials focused on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD).
