Dr. Natalie D. Hernandez-Green is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Founding Executive Director of the Center for Maternal Health at Morehouse School of Medicine. A social and behavioral scientist and mixed-methods translational researcher, she has more than 19 years of experience leading community-engaged, multidisciplinary research focused on maternal and reproductive health. Her work spans maternal behavioral health, pregnancy and postpartum care, preconception health, substance use, digital health, patient navigation, workforce development, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions across clinical and community settings.

Dr. Hernandez-Green serves as Multiple Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded CORAL Center, one of the NIH Maternal Health Research Centers of Excellence, and leads a multidisciplinary center comprising more than 30 faculty, staff, investigators, and trainees. Her scholarship is grounded in the belief that communities should not simply participate in research but should help shape the questions, interventions, and measures of success. She has built a nationally recognized portfolio integrating research, workforce development, community partnership, and systems change, including the development of community-based perinatal patient navigation and digital health models designed to improve access, continuity, and maternal wellbeing.

Her leadership and scholarship have been recognized through numerous national and state honors, and she is a frequent speaker and advisor on maternal health, community-engaged research, translational science, and building sustainable research and workforce infrastructure.
