Daphne Bascom Brief Bio
Daphne Bascom, MD, DPhil (Oxon), is a physician executive and lifestyle medicine specialist with more than two decades of leadership across health systems, health technology, and community health. She earned her DPhil in physiological sciences from the University of Oxford, Laboratory of Physiology, and her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, completing fellowship training in microvascular and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck at Oregon Health Sciences University. She is recognized among Oxford's Women in Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, an honor recognizing women whose Oxford-launched careers have shaped science and health at the highest levels.
Dr. Bascom has held VP and Chief Medical Officer roles at Cerner Corporation (now Oracle Health), advising domestic and international health systems on clinical strategy, health IT, and physician leadership, and served as Chief Clinical Systems Officer at the Cleveland Clinic Health System. She served as a Senior Vice President at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, where she built community health partnerships, advanced chronic disease prevention programs, and developed clinical integration strategies across the region. Building on that foundation, she joined Saint Luke's Health System as Vice President of Population Health, overseeing population health strategy, managed care partnerships, and social determinants initiatives across a 14-clinic network.
Currently, Dr. Bascom serves as Chief Operating Officer of The Vegan Gym, a global digital health platform focused on plant-based performance, healthspan, and longevity. There she directs the Menopause Mastery program, which has served more than 400 women since its 2024 launch, and hosts the Thrive on Plants podcast. She is also the founder of the Longevity Lab, an evidence-based community dedicated to lifestyle optimization and healthy aging.
