Mirandy Li, MD, PhD
Dr. Mirandy Li grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and is a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. After witnessing the health and resource disparities that resulted from the storm, she was inspired to go to medical school at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC). As the only queer woman of color in her medical school class, she joined, led, and created organizations focused on student activism. She decided to pursue her PhD in public health, where her dissertation focused on LGBTQ health disparities in the Deep South. Her research has been published in numerous journals and magazines, including LGBT Health, Out Magazine, and Current Psychology. For her work and activism, Dr. Li was awarded the Women in Medicine Leadership Award in 2018 and became a Point Foundation Scholar in 2020. She is currently a resident physician in the Department of Pediatrics at Morehouse School of Medicine.
