Dr. Greti Petersen is an Internal Medicine physician at Clinica Sierra Vista in Bakersfield, California. She completed her medical school and residency in Anesthesia and Critical Care in Romania before moving to USA. After completing her Internal Medicine residency in 2006, she began a distinguished career in Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Petersen has held key leadership roles, including Associate Program Director and later Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the institution where she trained, an established program with over 70 years of history. She also served as a Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA until 2024 and now she is an Adjunct Associate Professor Department of Medicine Morehouse School of Medicine.
She now serves as the inaugural Program Director for the Morehouse School of Medicine Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Transitional Year Residency Program and as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at BMH.
Above all, Dr. Petersen is deeply committed to mentorship, valuing her role in guiding past and current residents and serving as a trusted pillar of support both within and beyond the GME community.
