Mallika Venkatramani, MS, CGC

Mallika Venkatramani is a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor based at Grady Health System Cancer Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She specializes in seeing patients and families at-risk for hereditary cancer syndromes. Alongside her clinical work, she also conducts cancer genetics lectures for trainee physicians and is involved in supervising genetic counseling trainees from Emory University. Mallika has a long-term interest in science communication and has contributed articles related to genetics to a variety of publications, including MiSciWriters of the University of Michigan, Void Deck of the Science Centre Singapore, and more. Since January 2026, she has been a committee member of Perspectives, the official newsletter of the National Society of Genetic Counselors. Mallika also has an interest in ophthalmic oncology and presented a webinar to the National Society of Genetic Counselors on this topic in July 2025. She is actively involved in outreach efforts such as through college educational programs and community events aimed at improving genetic literacy, and is a volunteer for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
She also has a keen interest in clinical research, having been involved in studies both in the US and Singapore, which have led to publications in journals like Nature and Hereditary Cancer in Clinical Practice. She earned her Master's of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
