With over 25 years of experience in clinical research, Shanna is a seasoned professional who brings a unique blend of site operations expertise, project management acumen, and strategic alliance-building capabilities to her role as Director, Site Alliance at Parexel. Beginning her career as a Clinical Research Coordinator in Phoenix in the late 90's, Shanna developed a strong foundation in the operational aspects of clinical trials. This hands-on experience evolved into leadership when she co-founded and operated a clinical research site in Phoenix, serving as Director of Clinical Operations and co-owner from 2004 to 2012. This venture provided invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by research sites. Shanna's career path continued with a strategic role in the Consulting Division of RxTrials, Inc., fortunate to be mentored by Christine Pierre, whose profound impact on research site standards remains unparalleled. In this capacity, she delivered consulting services to CROs, recruitment firms, and medical technology companies. Her contributions included site identification and selection, development of protocol-specific recruitment and retention plans, improving site referral-to-randomization ratios, and leading site training for an innovative medical device designed to enhance medication compliance in clinical trials. Before joining Parexel, Shanna served as Project Manager at Total Clinical Trial Management (now Total Diversity), where she successfully managed a complex Phase III bioequivalence study involving 650 patients. Since October 2014, she have been an integral part of Parexel's Site Alliances Team, where she leverages her comprehensive understanding of site operations and sponsor requirements to foster productive partnerships across the clinical research ecosystem. Her unique perspective—having worked as a coordinator, site owner, consultant, and project manager—enables her to build meaningful alliances that enhance clinical trial efficiency and effectiveness.
