Folami Prescott-Adams, Ph.D., Community Psychology

Folami Prescott-Adams is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HTI Catalysts, both a network of facilitators and entrepreneurs as well as a provider of team-building and leadership development services. Born at a pivotal time in our liberation movement, she has spent decades advancing racial equity in schools, youth development initiatives and facilitating multiracial learning and healing spaces. Folami has played a key role in advancing education transformation, family engagement and youth-adult partnerships through initiatives with United Way of Greater Atlanta, Morehouse School of Medicine, Atlanta Public Schools, Georgia State University, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and many others.
Dr. Folami, a community psychologist, serves on numerous boards including Up for Learning, Society for Emerging and Advanced Facilitators and leads the Sassafras Ridge Landowners Association which is a community of both full-time residents and visionary mountain landowners. She is a sought out speaker, particularly around her work with Listening 4 Justice. She is completing a book about her own cultural justice journey which includes a guidebook for all to use to reflect on their own journey.
She is the author of SETCLAE, a self-esteem through culture curriculum and singer and songwriter on Come Be With Me, her latest CD compilation of her unique brand of Family Music.
She has degrees from Brown University, Temple University & a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from Georgia State University. She has four adult children who constantly remind her that all education begins at home.
Folami’s work is grounded in the belief that justice requires systems change at the broadest level while strengthening communities through shared understanding, deep listening and healing at the most intimate levels.
