Keisha Callins, MD, MPH

Dr. Keisha Reneé Callins, M.D., M.P.H, is a Georgia-trained physician leader and public health professional. As an obstetrician/gynecologist with Community Health Care Systems, Inc. (CHCS), a federally qualified health center network; she is committed to coordinating and providing women's healthcare services especially in rural and underserved areas of Georgia. At Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM), Dr. Callins, a former Joy McCann Endowed Professor, also serves on the faculty as Professor in the Department of Community Medicine, a department she previously chaired. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia (UVA); Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health; Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), and graduate medical training at MSM OB/GYN Residency Program at Grady Memorial Hospital. She completed the MSM Community Health Advanced by Medical Practice Superstars (CHAMPS) Transformational Healthcare Leadership Fellowship in 2020 and was the 2023 Inaugural Sanda Sunagan Deal Rural Service Fellow. She is actively involved in pipeline mentorship, translational research, legislative advocacy, and community engagement. Her personal mission statement is, “You may not be able to change the world, but you can change the world of everyone with whom you interact”.
