Neha Pathak, MD

Neha Pathak, MD, FACP, DipABLM, is a physician, educator, and medical journalist whose work sits at the intersection of lifestyle medicine, climate change, and planetary health. She is dual board-certified in internal medicine and lifestyle medicine, and a Blue Zones Certified Physician through the Blue Zones–ACLM partnership.
Dr. Pathak chairs the Global Sustainability Committee of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, where she led the development of the College's position statement on lifestyle medicine for personal and planetary health. She served on the National Academy of Medicine's project committee for Communicating About Climate Change and Health, part of the NAM Climate Grand Challenge.
Dr. Pathak is faculty with the Atlanta VA Medical Center's Quality Scholars Program, an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, and a lecturer at the Yale School of Public Health. She is Chief Physician Editor for Health and Lifestyle Medicine at WebMD, where she hosts the WebMD Health Discovered podcast and is a regular contributor to Yale Climate Connections, where she reports on the effects of environmental and climate change on health for a public audience.
She earned a BA in psychology and biology from Harvard University and her MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, with honors in community service. She completed her internal medicine primary care residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, then completed the VA Quality Scholars Fellowship Program and practiced primary care medicine within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Her scholarship and advocacy focus on evidence-based lifestyle medicine and the intersection of personal and planetary health. She has written peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and articles for professional and public audiences. She is a founding member of Georgia Clinicians for Climate Action, a network of health professionals working on the health consequences of a changing climate in the Southeast. She is passionate about educating the public and health professionals about lifestyle medicine not only to protect individual health, but to improve community and planetary health.
