Welcome to Bridging the Gap: Community Health Workers & Healthcare Providers Webinar Series! Curated by Morehouse School of Medicine AHEC in conjugation with the SPCC Atlanta AHEC, Georgia Statewide AHEC Network, and Morehouse School of Medicine Office of Extended Professional Education.
Community Health Workers (CHWs) are pivotal to providing healthcare services to all within our communities. Partnerships with CHWs and other healthcare providers can optimize health outcomes of patients and create a cohesive workforce. Bridging the Gap: Community Health Workers & Healthcare Providers is an educational webinar series to teach healthcare providers and health profession students about the value of CHWs. This program will consist five webinars to spread awareness about the work that CHWs conduct on a daily basis and how their partnership is an asset.

Mary Kidd Davis, MS, RN - MSM AHEC Director
Ms. Kidd Davis works with the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network Program Office at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM). Her role in the Program Office establishes and maintains a partnership with MSM AHEC program. In this role, she is charged to direct and develop statewide educational programs. Specifically, these educational programs will target self-care, wellness and programming to support providers and health care institutions to sustain healthier workplaces. Additionally, her role is to develop statewide education programs to explain and demonstrate the roles and values of community health workers (CHWs) and other paraprofessionals to the health workforce and to the community in general. In addition to this role with the Program Office, she is Director of MSM AHEC Program and Clinical Instructor in the Departments of Community Health and Preventive Medicine and Medical Education at MSM. She is also Course Director for a mandatory first year course, Fundamentals of Medicine 1, Clinical Preceptorship Course.

Chelsea Cliatt, MPH - Program Manager
- Mrs. Cliatt is the Program Manager at Morehouse School of Medicine in the Community Health and Preventive Medicine Department and Area Health Education Center (AHEC). She is the program manager of both the Interconnected: Resilience & Wellness Program and the Bridging the Gap: Community Health Workers & Healthcare Providers Webinar Series. Her educational background spans from a Bachelor in Social and Behavioral Health and a Master in Public Health with certificates in Social Services and Diversity, and Mental Health Frist Aid Training for youth and adults. She has a passion to elevate health outcomes and equity for all.

Sharleen Clemons - Program Coordinator
- Ms. Sharleen Clemons is the program coordinator for the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) Area Health Education Centers Program. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the overall MSM AHEC program.

Daphne Byrd, MS - Program Committee Member
- Daphne Byrd is Executive Director of the Southeastern Primary Care Consortium, Inc., Atlanta Area Health Education Center (SPCC Atlanta AHEC). Ms. Byrd holds a Masters of Science in Education Degree of which she obtained from the University of Georgia. She is a 32 year professional with extensive knowledge and experience in health care administration, healthcare policy development, analysis of healthcare systems, community organization and development, legislative advocacy, health education/promotion, community service learning, fundraising, and partnership development.
