Dr. Stringer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology cum laude from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi, and his M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his first two years of internal medicine (IM) residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas; his third year of IM residency at Faulkner Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts; and his fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Stringer has been a member of the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) since 1983 and a member of the full-time clinical faculty of the MSM Department of Medicine since 1992.
