Jasmine Abrams, PhD

Dr. Jasmine Abrams is an internationally recognized behavioral research scientist, educator, and advocate for health equity. She is a Research Scientist at the Yale School of Public Health and an affiliate faculty member at Boston University's Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence.
Featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NBC, NPR, and many other national media outlets, Dr. Abrams' interdisciplinary work spans the United States, Haiti, and South Africa, addressing urgent issues in maternal health, reproductive justice, HIV prevention, and psychosocial determinants of health. She is known for her expertise in qualitative methods and implementation science, with a focus on intersectional and community-engaged approaches that translate evidence into culturally responsive action. As Director of the Health Equity Action Research Team (HEART), she collaborates with communities, clinicians, and institutions to conduct participatory research that drives sustainable, equity-centered change.
In addition to her research, Dr. Abrams is a serial entrepreneur. Her newest venture, the Thrive Institute for Professional Development, which trains scholars to build meaningful, productive careers while maintaining personal well-being.
Relatedly, she has led national programs supporting underrepresented researchers and is a sought-after speaker, educator, consultant, and mentor across academia and public health.
