Dr. Isabel Morgan is trained in reproductive and perinatal epidemiology, with over 12 years of specialized experience leading mixed-methods research and evaluation projects in academic, federal and state government, and nonprofit settings. Through her professional training and engagement with reproductive justice organizations, Dr. Morgan is adept at leveraging liberatory theories and frameworks to inform study designs, analysis and evaluation, synthesis, dissemination, and implementation to advance justice and equity.

Her research portfolio encompasses Black maternal and reproductive health inequities, with specific expertise in maternal mortality, infertility, and postpartum care. Dr. Morgan is Principal Investigator of the Reproduction at the Intersections Study focused on the impact of state reproductive health policies on Black patient decision-making and provider counseling approaches in fertility care.

Her scholarship has been published in Social Science & Medicine, Health Affairs, and MMWR. Dr. Morgan has received awards from the Delta Omega Honor Society, Society of Family Planning, CDC, and NIH. Dr. Morgan received her PhD in Maternal and Child Health and Epidemiology from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, MSPH in Population, Family, and Reproductive Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and BA in Anthropology from Mount Holyoke College.
