Chanel Stryker is a Certified Holistic, Full-Spectrum, Community-Based Perinatal Support Professional, executive leader, and respected voice in Black Birth and Reproductive Justice. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Georgia Community Doula Coalition (GCDC), a statewide organization advancing equitable access to culturally affirming, community-based perinatal care through policy advocacy, workforce development, coalition building, and systems change.

In 2022, Chanel led the successful implementation of the Georgia Medicaid Doula Pilot, helping expand access to doula care for more than 150 Georgia families. Since then, she has contributed to statewide efforts to strengthen the doula workforce, advance Medicaid and private insurance reimbursement, and increase recognition of community-based doulas as essential members of the maternal healthcare team. Through GCDC, she has established a coalition of more than 100 members, built strategic partnerships across healthcare, philanthropy, government, and community organizations, developed the organization's strategic vision and governance structure, and continues to advocate for sustainable investment in community-based birthwork throughout Georgia.

Chanel also serves as Co-Founder and Principal Consultant of The Perinatal Consulting Girlz, where she partners with organizations, coalitions, and community leaders to provide strategic planning, project management, curriculum development, technical assistance, fundraising support, and workforce development consulting. Her work centers culturally responsive solutions that strengthen organizations and expand equitable maternal and child health programs.

As Founder and Program Lead of the Liberation Birthways Diaspora Delegation, Chanel is leading a global maternal health initiative connecting U.S.-based and Liberian perinatal professionals to strengthen collaboration, workforce development, and health systems across the African diaspora. Through partnerships with the Liberian Ministry of Health, hospitals, and community organizations, Liberation Birthways fosters knowledge exchange and collective action to improve outcomes for Black birthers, babies, and families while honoring the cultural traditions that have long sustained our communities.

Beyond maternal health, Chanel is an experienced strategist and project manager with expertise in coalition governance, organizational development, multi-sector partnerships, and the execution of complex initiatives that translate vision into measurable impact. She is passionate about building sustainable organizations, cultivating collaborative leadership, and creating systems that are rooted in equity, accountability, and community stewardship.

Her advocacy and leadership have been featured by CBS, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, among other media outlets. Chanel is a sought-after speaker on birth justice, reproductive justice, maternal mental health, doula policy, coalition leadership, and systems transformation, bringing together lived experience, evidence, and strategy to inspire meaningful change.

At the heart of Chanel's work is "Joie" (joy)—a guiding principle that shapes how she leads, serves, and builds community. Through every initiative, she strives to cultivate spaces of equity, resilience, and liberation, ensuring that every family has access to respectful, culturally affirming care and that birth is honored as a sacred, supported, and empowering experience.
