Dr. Ibipo Bukky Babalola earned her Ph.D. in Communication, Culture, and Media Studies (CCMS) from Howard University. As a health communication practitioner and researcher, her work focuses on health disparities within maternal health, including patient-provider communication and engagement, healthcare access, birth equity, and assisted reproductive technologies.

Dr. Babalola has presented dynamic research at academic conferences such as the National Communication Association, Society of Public Health Education, and the International Association for Communication and Sports. She has made notable scholarly contributions in the National Academies of Sciences and Medicine’s Annual D.C. Public Health Case Challenge and Report. Her published work highlights research on the health- related needs of women who experience hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and its implications for health communication interventions.

Dr. Babalola's expertise in the field of health communication spans supporting federal health agency, medical system, and city health department public health initiatives on sexual and reproductive health, COVID-19, Mpox, and other chronic health conditions.

She holds a master’s degree from Morgan State University in Journalism with a Public Health focus, and a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in Broadcast Journalism. Her work aims to uplift disenfranchised communities through the art and science of health communication.
