She formerly held the position of Executive Director for the Offices of Intercultural Relations and Women’s and Gender Equity at a prominent university, demonstrating her dedication to fostering environments where diverse skills and identities are valued and thrive. Her pioneering research investigates the revolutionary impact of Black birth workers’ liberating leadership, a subject that has been neglected in academic research. Her research emphasizes the vital contributions of Black birth workers as embodied, relational, and liberating leaders, transforming equitable care systems to more effectively support Black birthing individuals, families, and communities while addressing persistent medical racism and obstetric violence in maternal healthcare.
