Rachel Johnson, LMSW, MFT, ACC

Rachel J. (she/her) is a licensed therapist, wellness practitioner, and community builder who believes healing should be as accessible as it is transformative. As the founder of Half Hood Half Holistic, she holds space at the intersection of mental health, cultural identity, and collective care—offering coaching, healing circles, and programs that honor both the softness and sharpness of our lived experiences.
She is the author of The Self-Love Workbook for Black Women, a soul-centered guide rooted in radical self-acceptance, reflection, and healing justice—written for those learning to rest, release, and return home to themselves.
With a background grounded in clinical social work, trauma-informed practice, and culturally responsive care, Rachel designs spaces where people—especially Black and brown communities—can exhale, reflect, and rebuild. Her work spans private practice, group facilitation, and community-based wellness programs designed to restore agency and connection.
Whether leading a joy-forward retreat, training emerging wellness leaders, or curating narrative healing spaces, Rachel is most known for her realness, her reverence for process, and her ability to bring people together across difference to do deep, necessary, and nourishing work.
