Dr. Lorraine Wilson Batts, DNP, RN, CNML, NPD-BC, is a nurse leader, educator, speaker, and consultant dedicated to advancing nursing practice, maternal health, and workforce development. With nearly two decades of healthcare experience, she has built a distinguished career spanning clinical practice, nursing leadership, academia, professional development, and community health. She has disseminated her work at local, state, national, and international conferences.

Lorraine holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is recognized through honors including the North Carolina Great 100 Nurses Award and the National Black Nurses Association Leader Under 40 Award. These distinctions reflect her commitment to leadership, innovation, and service within healthcare and the broader community.

A significant portion of Lorraine's work has focused on maternal and infant health. Her clinical background includes labor and delivery, postpartum care, community-based maternal-child health, and nurse home visiting. She is a passionate advocate for compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. She has empowered families to become active participants in their healthcare journeys while promoting equitable care practices among healthcare professionals.

She has extensive experience educating low-income families on maternal and child health, and car seat safety, helping families build confidence and knowledge to support healthy outcomes for their children. Through her work, Lorraine remains passionate about equipping healthcare teams with the knowledge, skills, and compassion needed to provide individualized, family-centered care that meets the unique needs of every family they serve.
