Dr. Sayida Peprah-Wilson is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator and full-spectrum doula, with over 15 years of experience in each field. She specializes in multicultural psychology, trauma, suicide prevention and maternal mental health. Her background includes having worked in community-based, in-home, psychiatric hospital and prison/jail settings. She is also a trainer and consultant on topics of cultural humility, implicit bias, and trauma as they impact mental and maternal health. Dr. Sayida is the Founder and Executive Director of the non-profit organization Diversity Uplifts, Inc. focused on improving the well-being of communities impacted by historical trauma and disparity, while increasing competence and cultural humility among providers who serve them. Dr. Sayida is also co-founder ​of Frontline Doulas and the Sankofa Birthworkers Collective of the Inland Empire. An advocate for human rights in childbirth, Dr. Sayida is a Movement Partner with the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and member of the Black Women Birthing Justice Collective. She also serves on several advisory committees aimed at reducing disparities and improving perinatal health including the Maternal Suicide Review Committee (2018-2019), SoCal Pregnancy Associated Mortality Review Committee (present), Perinatal Equity Initiative Committees of San Bernardino and Riverside County (present), CA Coalition for Black Birth Justice and the DHCS Medi-Cal Doula Co-Design and Implementation Workgroup.
