Mikayla Blackson is a reproductive health policy researcher and emerging public health professional whose work centers on sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, health equity, and public policy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hampton University and is pursuing a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, with a certificate in Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health. Her professional experience includes reproductive health advocacy, sexual health education, community engagement, and maternal health programming. She has worked with organizations including REPRO Rising Virginia and The Mama Glow Foundation and has full-spectrum doula training. Her scholarly interests include reproductive health policy, sexuality education, maternal health equity, Medicaid policy, and the political determinants of health. Through her research and community-based work, Blackson seeks to advance equitable, evidence-informed policies and educational systems that improve health and well-being.
