Priyanka Patel, MD

Dr. Priyanka Patel is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in both general and forensic psychiatry. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and completed her general psychiatry residency and forensic psychiatry fellowship at Saint Louis University in Missouri. She has additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and holds a master's degree in healthcare administration.
Dr. Patel has held several leadership and academic roles throughout her career. She previously served as Medical Director for the Georgia foster care system, where she oversaw medical care for children, adolescents, and older adults. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she received the Georgia Commissioner's Award for Exemplary Service to Georgia's Children and Families. She also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Morehouse School of Medicine.
Her clinical practice encompasses consultation-liaison psychiatry in hospital and emergency department settings, correctional psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and community psychiatry. Dr. Patel is deeply committed to advancing mental health advocacy, promoting immigrant mental health, and improving access to high-quality psychiatric care for underserved populations.
