Chinedu Ivonye
Dr. Chinedu Ivonye SENIOR ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION ACGME DESIGNATED INSTITUTIONAL OFFICIAL FOR MOREHOUSE SCHOOL OF MEDICINE Dr. Ivonye is responsible for the oversight and administration of each of the ACGME-accredited programs, as well as for ensuring compliance with the ACGME institutional, common, specialty/subspecialty, and recognition requirements. He carries out the strategic mission and vision of Morehouse School of Medicine and Morehouse Healthcare by coordinating clinical training for residents and strengthening relationships with partnering hospitals and health systems. Dr. Ivonye is also the Designated Institutional Official and has authority and oversight over all current training programs in the Atlanta area and across the country. Dr. Ivonye is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine. He is the recipient of the Morehouse Graduate Medical Education Faculty of the Year Award, Multiple Dean’s Teaching and Service Awards. He is also the recipient of the J. Willis Hurst Award for Excellence in Teaching, Bedside Medicine, and Mentoring and the Mark Silverman Award for Patient Care, Leadership and Teaching from the Georgia American College of Physicians. He was recently awarded the Laurate of the American College of Physicians by the Georgia Chapter. An internationally recognized and renowned scholar, Dr. Ivonye is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. A sought-after speaker. He has presented at several national and international conferences and meetings. He's authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, including a bestselling Internal Medicine Board Review book. Additionally, Dr. Ivonye participates in national exam writing and education and curriculum committees.
