Dr. Talmon is a Professor of Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  He completed medical school and residency at UNMC, a fellowship in surgical pathology and the Mayo Clinic, and received a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University.  Dr. Talmon is the College of Medicine’s Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education and his department’s Vice Chair of Medical Education.  He was the first Linder Distinguished Residency Director, inaugural director of the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators, 2021 Varner Educator Laureate, and 2023 recipient of the Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award, the NU system’s highest teaching honor. He has over 140 peer reviewed publications to his credit, along with multiple book chapters.  The book he co-edited, “Mind the Gap: Generational Differences in Medical Education,” is dedicated to managing intergenerational conflict in medical education.  He is past president of the Nebraska Association of Pathologists and member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification and Council of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
